To all parents, grandparents, and guardians,
School has started, and our children and grandchildren sometimes are nervous. Due to
these feelings, I thought it might help to receive a few crumbs of advice!
Ways to help:
- 1) Help them to describe their feeling, like “I see you’re frustrated” or “That looks disappointing.”
- 2) Normalize and reassure them with, “Everyone feels nervous trying something new, even grown-ups!”
- 3) Teach calming strategies, such as reading books about confidence. Glowing with Confidence is a must-read story. Then, “say count to ten, or repeat to yourself, I know my self-worth or I can handle this!”
- 4) Celebrate courage & wise choices every day!
- 5) Communicate openly and ask, “What was one tricky moment today? How did you handle it?” Then genuinely reassure them for sharing it. Confidence & clear communication are essential ingredients to a confident and happy child.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog post. Your support is always appreciated.
I’m excited to share my second children’s book, Glowing with Confidence, and I am
confident that your loved ones will be doing just that, Glowing with Confidence!
